Eddy Packing Co., Inc. was founded October 1, 1953 by E.R. (Eddy) Mayrant. The plant was located on Front Street, downtown Yoakum, Texas. The office staff consisted of Mr. and Mrs. Mayrant and a total of six production employees. Later they were joined by a Plant Manager and two Sales Reps. The company, family owned and operated, was founded with a commitment to producing consistent quality products "Made with Family Pride" and that commitment still holds true today, 57 years later.

Eddy Packing Co., Inc. moved to the present location of 404 Airport Rd, Yoakum , TX in 1970 and was incorporated on March 29, 1972. The physical plant is located in an industrial park across the street from the city airport.

On July 16, 1998, the company was sold to Ronald and Joan Beeman of Waelder, TX. There has been a recent expansion and remodeling project bringing the under roof square footage to approximately 300,000 square feet, making Eddy Packing Co., Inc. one of the most modern meat processing plants in the southwest. We take pride in processing sausages, portion control beef, and smoked or marinated meat products, to meet the needs of our customers. We also process specialty meat products such as the HeartBrand meat products and Jack Daniels Bar-B-Que meat products.

In December of 2011 the company was acquired by Mason Wells, management and other investors.

The company's market areas include the continental United States and Hawaii.

The company has dedicated employee base which currently employs over 600 production, sales, warehouse, office and quality control staff.
